With Father’s Day just days away I thought I would share my DIY gift ideas from the previous year. Below you will find some extremely easy, but sentimental gifts for that special dad in your life.
Please excuse the low quality photos. I did not have my new toy back then.
Scrabble Shadow Box
This is a quick and easy gift for any dad to display in their office/workspace. You begin with creating a color coordinated background and surrounding mat for a shadow box. I simply used a piece of cardboard and then wrapped it with the colors of my choice. You then begin to arrange the letters of each family member’s name in a “Scrabble” type manner where each name is connected. I did not buy a Scrabble game, but rather bought letters that resembled the Scrabble letters from a craft store. I then proceeded to put the family name at the bottom on one of the letter tile holders from the actual game. I hot glued all of the pieces in place. There you have it a fast and simple way to create a gift for dad!
Father’s Day T-shirt
What dad would not be proud to show off their kids on Father’s Day? Well, here is a way for him to do just that. You simply create your design on a word processor program, making sure to flip the text. Once you are done, print the design on iron-on transfer paper, which can be purchased at any store that sells office supplies. You will follow the directions for transferring the design to the t-shirt and Viola! I also made ones for the Boys to wear as well.
